Brief Description: Instrument Panel Final Assembly - Part 02
Final assembly on the Infinity stick grips went well, although I discovered during the reassembly that, at the desired height of the right stick (just clearing the bottom of the instrument panel), when the Cabin Heat control was pulled out, the stick would interfere with it. So, I had to cut an extra .5" off the right stick to make sure that I got the necessary clearance. Sheeze, so many things to account for in a project like this...
Finally, I added the freshly powder coated Electric Flap assembly and Weldment back in. Oh so sweet. It really came out nice and works great too! You can also get an idea of how nice the newly powder coated floorboards look in those pictures. I replaced all of the pop rivets with aluminum rivnuts so when the floors went back in I used #6 black screws and washers throughout. Maybe a little heavier, but certainly a lot nicer looking and a lot more serviceable in the future.
