Brief Description: Preparing for weight and balance
Busy day getting ready for the weight and balance check. Got the E-flap controller back from the USA with updated operating system - installed and tested it - still no go so back to square one with that one. Will have to test the whole syetem again .....
Installed the panel, refitted the centre console and cut and fitted the throttle cable to the carbi. Refitted all the wheel covers, then installed the seats so all was complete.
Headed off to the petrol station to get 20 litres of fuel so I could fill the tanks to the minimum usable level (ie add fuel to each tank and then draw off all the fuel the electric pump would pick up). Kept adding fuel to get pressure - but after adding 10 litres to each tank I couldn't get pressure. Eventually twigged that with all the fuel lines attached, the lines were presurising and the air in the lines was compressing and stopping any fuel flow. With Peter T's help, pulled the bowl from the carbi and lifted the float to open the system - got fuel flow immediately. Then spent 30 minutes drawing virtually all the fuel I had added to drop the tank levels to the nil usable fuel levels. I learn ....
