Brief Description:  Making mounting nuts for cable glands through the

After much research I sourced some adjustable cable glands to safely carry the electric cables through the firewall. When they arrived I discovered they had a single nut to both clamp the gland down on the cables to get a tight fit, and clamp the gland against the firewall to get a good mount. Silly design. The chance of the gland pulling up on the cables at eactly the same time as it pulled up on the firewall is nix.

An hour or so walking around the hardware eventually found retic fittings with the same threads. Some carefull cutting on the bandsaw and I have second nuts for each gland. Now I can pull the glands up firmly against the firewall with one nut - then pass the cables through and pull the gland down on the cables with the other nut. Would have been easier if they had simple supplied 2 nuts with each fitting ..................
