Did some work on the axles and brakes - locating the holes for the locking bolts. The axles are proving very hard to drill, so I removed all the brake assemblies and gave the brackets and axles to Rodney to drill - using carbide drill bits.
Ground and sanded the inside faces of the elevators - the crank bracket connecting the elevators didn't fit by about 1/8"" (not enough space). Have previously filled the inside with extra resin to strengthen - so now can grind back the two opposite faces. Ground and filed until the bracket fitted. The fibreglass was thin after the grinding, so I filled the inside with more resin to strengthen again.
With the elevators held correctly in place with the clicoes, can now adjust the fit of the horn area. Trimmed and filed both the stabilisers and elevators to get an even 1/8"" clearance.
