Brief Description:  Second wing fit attempt - with success!

Made up alloy packers to replace the steel wide area washers between the spar box and the fuse. Carefully centred the spar box at the bottom (where the spar bolts are) - I centred the top of the spar box last time, but I learnt.

Didn't take long to get all in place - but still had great difficulty slipping the spar bolts into place. After about 2 more hours of work we worked out that there was a very slight twist in the spars - just enough to bind the bolts. So it was well after dark by the time all lined up and the bolts slipped home. We took careful note of what we had done - then pulled the wings off and put them away again, and moved the fuselage back into the garage again. The spar box locating bolts were torqued up.

Will bolt the top of the spar box together next and then the interior work can start.

I note thay Denis's suggestion to complete the canopy before fixing in the spar box made a lot of sense. It was much easier to move around inside the cockpit before the spar box went in.

Easter is over - and the spar box is in place!
