Brief Description: Riveting the elevator hinges to the elevators
Broke my rivet gun on my first attempt to rivet with the 3/16" SS rivets. When speaking to Peter T, he offered to lend me his gun - but also advised that it would be good practice to epoxy behind the hinges to make sure there was no play. I had already put in 6 rivets before my gun broke.
So carefully drilled out the rivets and headed off to buy some replacements. I visted Peter at the Serpentine Club and borrowed his gun.
I mixed up a wet epoxy flock mixture and applied it under the hinge plates. It was again very hard to pull the SS rivets but Peter's gun was stronger and the task was completed (Gabriel's arms are somewhat stronger than mine.....)
Little muscles - not much luck.
Bigger muscles - much better.
Finished clecoed in position (elevator and trim tab)
