Brief Description:  Prep for attaching canopy skins

More work on the favourite canopy! Did the final sand of the top edge of the skins. Filed a chamfer on the outside top edge, then sanded it all smooth. Clecoed the skin on (did one half at a time) then replaced the clecoes with self tappers. Masked the canopy against the top edge of the skin (fun getting it close and even).

Then removed the skin, rough sanded the canopy where the bonding was to be, and cleaned everything down to get rid of all dust. Masked the fuse below the frame to avoid resin bonding to the fuse. Used a steel rule to check the alignment of the canopy with the frame - it varied from the frame being 5mm lower (recessed) than the canopy, to the frame being 4mm proud of the canopy. Wrote these meaurements on the fuse all around the canopy. Mixed up 130gm of flocked resin. Used the measurements to apply the flocked resin at varying thickness to provide full flock contact under the skin.
