Brief Description:  Getting fuel level senders to co-operate ...

Another simple job that became complex .... The Jabiru EMS map "suite" on the Skyview (pre-set-up to match the Jabiru) is based on resistive fuel level senders - as used in Jabiru aircraft. The Lightning uses conductive sensors - which I only discovered when I couldn't get any readings after setting up the initial fuel load. Not simple to fix. The pins that I had wired the fuel sensors to could only accept resisitive messages - so I had to find 2 unused pins that would accept conductive messages - fortunately pins 22 & 31 met the requirement. Then had to chase back through the wiring to intercept the cables carrying the signals from each tank, then run wiring from the 2 new pins all the way through from the avionics behind the seat, then fit connectors ....

Then discovered the left hand tank sensor earth was weak - so had to run a new earth to the wing tank.

Problems fixed now - but I have a few hours of tidying up the wiring harnesses to do some time I feel like a simple job!
