Brief Description:  Pre-inspection for certification

Ed visited and went over the airframe and engine installation. This was a pre-inspection before I pay for an engineer to visit and certify the build of the aircraft. Ed was very happy with the overall build quailty and found nothing that would prevent certification.

He did however make improvement suggestions. The left aileron has some play in the linkage that could be removed. It appears to be in the wing bell crank area so I will strip it and check all the clearances.

The radio antenna should be 620mm high (best wave interception length) but it it 500mm high. I'll check with MicroAir (supplier) before replacing it if necessary. And the base ground antenna is too close to the elevator torque tube in the rear of the fuselage - having it that close will transmit RF interference along the tube and back toward the instruments. I will have to remove the elevator tube and rudder cables to get access to the rear fuse to get that work done.

And the flap actuator (electronic) is not picking up the last 2 position settings so I'll need to pull the panel again and read the voltages on each of the setting leads.

Overall - successful pre-inspection ...
