Brief Description:  Firing up the panel!

Another long day with the panel. Started by making up the last of the connections and extending the the back-up battery cables. Sat the centre console in place and adjusted the routing of the cables from the avionics bay behind the seat bulkhead through under the seat and over the wing spar.

Sat the panel in place face down and made all the connections. I have worked hard to allow enough cable length to drop the panel to work on it. Once all was in place I called Peter T over to check the basic wiring to the Master Switch. All tested OK with the multimeter so I conected the Master and threw the switch - and the main panel relay kicked in correctly.

I then mounted the panel and turned on each instrument - all came alive correctly. The flap moter was running backwards so I pulled out the connection and reversed the leads in the connector box - all fixed. The elevator trim on the sticks worked well - but the position indicator and the motor travel confirmed that for some reason I had fitted the trim motor in the central position at one extreme end of its travel - so I'll have to adjust (or replace) the link rod.

The Slyview display worked well. The GPS functioned properly. I will need to read the user manual and map the ADAHRS and EMS for the Jabiru 3300 engine before I can check the inbound signals from all the senders.

Removed the panel and again rerouted many of the cables.
