Brief Description:  Fitting the stick mixer and aileron tubes

Another time consuming but productive day. I climbed (read twisted ...) under the panel and did a final inspection to make sure all leads and cables were tidy and clear of the rudder cables. A few more cable ties were added, and I shrouded the brake lines with a plastic sleeve to protect them from any touching or friction damage.

Then I did a couple of trial assemblies on the stick mixer to make sure everything worked - then adjusted the mixer connecting rod so both sticks are neutral at the same time (useful). Then marked and cut aileron torque tubes to length.

The torque tubes cone end fittings are a very tight fit and it took an hour of sanding each one to get them to fit inside the torque tubes. Once they were in place I drilled and bolted them in position.

Last task was to replace all the temporary nuts throughout the assembly with nyloc nuts and tension everything up. All flying controls are now complete - they just need final rigging and lock-wiring in place.
