Lots more hunting to find 1 amp in-line fuses - too small for automotive shops - found some at Altronics. Soldered them into the leads heading from the shunt to the Dynon as per the installation suggestion. If it is such a good idea, why not include them with the Dynon installation hardware???
Called Peter T about a tacho pickup. Option A buy from Dynon Jabiru at $150, Option B buy from Altronics at about $50. Option C splice a connection into the alternator lead. The alternator is on the end of crankshaft so the pulses are exactly the same as the engine revs. Those pulses can be read by the Dynon - so free and relaible techo inputs .............
