Brief Description:  Building up firewall with attached components.

Collected all the firewall components then finished marking up the firewall. Took quite a while as I regularly held the engine mount in position to check that everything cleared the mount and all other fittings (including pipes and hoses). Took a while to cut the 2 1/8" diam hole through the firewall for the cabin air heat - I scored it with a scribe hole saw, then jigsawed the hole, then ground it smooth. Sheetmetal work with stainless steel needs better tools.............

Used nutplates on everything except the airbox (sealed with gasket sealer then riveted) and hinge mounts (riveted).

Enjoyable work but slow as all mounts had to be designed, manufactured and fitted. Instructions are OK only - so much time was spent comparing instructions, to CAD drawings to photos of the firewall.
