Brief Description:  Prep & mounting of engine.

Started with more work on the seats. Trimed the seat pans to get a reasonable fit then measured and moved the centre console to get better alignment with the centre of the panel. Calculated how much to move the seat side support rails to hold the seats better. Some of the issues are that the seat rear bulkhead is not square with the firewall or spar box - and one of the seat pans has a 3/4" twist.

Moved on to preparing to install the engine. Re-fitted the firewall and then refitted the engine mount.

Next Robert & I fitted the main gear and Robert, Rodney & I fitted, aligned and bolted the nose wheel assembly.

At 5.00pm the crew came around to help (Don, Dean, Gabriel Rodney & Robert). Rather than using an engine hoist, I positioned a tressle at the right height and we manually lifted the engine onto the tressle. Once we had the mounting rubber bushes in place - 4 guys lifted the engine and brought it to the mount and 2 guys worked the mounts. Still took 1 1/2 hours to get it all done. Couldn't get the AN4 31A bolts in as we couldn't compress the rubber bushes enough to get the nuts on. So the engine is mounted with longer 3/16 bolts (Bunnings variety) until I work out a way to compress the bushes so I can fit the correct bolts.
