Brief Description: Repairing, filling and sanding wings
Back from Cambodia again - so back at work on the Lightning! We had some small blisters on the wing skins caused by leaving the wings in the sun for a few minutes in the Western Australian heat - the temp rose enough to blister the gel-coat. It was the low-sheen black colour that really drove the heat up. Lesson learned - don't leave any plane parts in the sun!
The blisters were scratched and cleaned out - then filled. Then the whole wing surfaces were lightly sanded - filled again - and sanded again. Had 2 of the grandsons (Sean & Riley) visit during the second sanding. They asked good questions about the wings.
