Fabricated R-717 (2) Rudder Bottom Attach Strip and R-717 Shim from 0.032 2024-T3 ALCAD.
Used the R-606PP Spar Reinf. Plate as a hole guide for the R717 Shim.
Used side clamps to hold the R-716 Rudder Bottom Attach Strips in place. Used the R-704 Bottom Rib as a hole guide. Drilled holes undersize to better match drill all the holes in the bottom rib to the R-801PP Rudder Skin.
Will use the same technique for theR-703 Top Rib and R-713Counterballance Skin.
Began to Cleco the whole rudder assembly together to match drill all holes to final size. The manual is not very clear on this technique, directing that holes be drilled to final size without parts clecoed together.
Also not clearly mentioned (but illustrated) are the upper and middle K1000-6 Platenuts attached to the R-802PP Spar.
