Brief Description:  AMT General Knowledge Test

After I retired from TWA early in 2000, I enrolled in the Aviation Mechanic Technician (AMT) program at Columbus State University’s facility at Bolton Field, OH.

I completed all except the last quarter of the Airframe Mechanic’s program before I went back to work.

In March of 2001, I found an opening as a simulator instructor on the Cessna 560 Ultra with FlightSafety International at Port Columbus (CMH). But once I was qualified to teach at FlightSafety, I was able to manage taking the last quarter of the Airframe program in the early part of the day, and working at FlightSafety in the evening and night hours.

Unfortunately, I did not take the tests necessary to obtain the AMT rating, and the longer I waited, the harder it became to get back with the program.

This summer was going to be different, while we were on our summer hiatus to Columbus, OH, I decided to complete the required tests.

The first test I took was the General Knowledge test at The Ohio State University Airport. I took and passed this test today.
