Brief Description: Assembly of Vertical Stabilizer
Decided to change the three #8 installed rivet nuts on the Vertical Stabilizer to #6 rivet nuts.
Prepared assembled VS and HS for plate nut installation. Enlarged holes to allow #6 screws and drilled rivet holes to fasten the rivet nuts in place. Deburred the new holes drilled.
Was able to make satisfactory dimples using the hydraulic rivet squeezer. When the rivet nuts arrive from Aircraft Spruce, I will install them.
This “pre” installation will work much better now than when the HS and VS are on the airplane.
Still have to figure out where to put the ground straps for the Static Discharge System.
