Brief Description: Tooling - Cockpit temporary wood floor boards
|
|
So far since I have build the "fuselage canoe" on cleco, I have avoided climbing inside the fuselage and worked bending over. While trying to modify structure for rear throttle, I realize it may be easier to just sit in the cockpit. I didn't want to install my original aluminum floors to stand on them, and more likely damage them. For such reason, I decided to make temporary wood floor boards for the cockpit area. After much thoughts and trying to use the wood I already have at the shop, I decided to purchase some 5/8" plywood from RONA.
Before starting floor board fabrication, I protected floor frame structure with masking tape.
I put togheter on cleco the aluminum floor parts, and used them as a template for dimensioning my floor floor boards. I cut the plywood floor board and make several adjustments to endure fit and also removability from fuselage.
During the evening, I modified the baggage bay temporary floor boards I had made june 2015 for better fit inside fuselage.
I have one more floor board to fabricate, that is for area between Frame 9 and 10. I will do this when I remove the upper aft fuselage skin, as I will have easier access for measuring.
