Brief Description:  Fuselage - Rudder Pedal Assembly

Goal of this evening session was to complete the Rudder Pedal assembly....not that easy...

First, I realized that the night before, I had installed LH Rudder pedal on the right side, and RH Rudder Pedal on the left side....oups ! Good thing I caught that at this time :-)

Once that was corrected, I moved my attention to installing the Brake pedals. I decided not to finalize the installation at this time, installing cutter pins that I may have to remove later. I will put all the cutter pins on when everything is installed on the Rudder Pedal assembly.

Following that, I tried to installed the brake master cylinder by bolting the bottom part to the lug on the Rudder Slide WD-816. For whatever reasons, the 3/8" hole in the master cylinder would not align with the dia #12 hole in the lug. This is when I did the unreapairable act of enlarging both holes in the lug to dia #10. That didn't work either. I resulted in lightly grinding the top part of the lug to ensure the holes align, with success. The problem now is that my holes in the Rudder Slider lugs are too large. There is too much play at the bottom of the master cylinder, and it appears unacceptable to have the master cylinder moving in all directions. In order to fix that, I will need to enlarge both holes in the lugs and in master cylinder to next bolt size.
