Brief Description: Fuselage - Dimpling Skin panel for final assembly
Today was another beautiful winter day....I had planned on going skiing, but never actually left house early enough to get to the ski hills. Instead, my motivation was really get the work done on the RV. Therefore, I ended up in the shop again for more skin dimpling action. Dad also came to provide some help at the end of the afternoon, then for the evening session.
Today, I did:
- Finalized dimpling on the F824-R-1 skin - Dimpled both F823-L-1 and F823-R-1, minus some dimple that I will do with the squeezer and not the DRDT-2 - Dimpled all but the long edges on F842-1 aft bottom skin. Will use the squeezer to finalize edge dimpling. We also use the C-Frame and a hammer to dimple some of the less accessible holes with the DRDT-2. We also found out that distording the skin to provide an access for the DRDT-2 is not a good idea, as when applying pressure, it acts like a shrinker/stretcher making a local small bend. - Partially dimpled the F825 Aft fuse top skin.
I will complete dimpling on these parts likely tomorrow. Weather forecast is not good for tomorrow. I then have no excuse to go skiing instead of working on the RV....
