Brief Description: Fuselage - Preparation for Final assy - skin dimpl
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2017 !
It was a beautiful sunny, fresh snow on the ground and not too cold day for this Jan 1st 2017. Perfect day to go sking...but being so motivated to get throught fuselage preparation for final assembly before going back to work Jan 9, I spent that day in the shop.
On that Sunday, I worked on the long aft fuselage side skins F824. I did:
- Dimple the dia #19 hole for a #8 screw which will fasten the rudder cable exit guide clamp, on both LH and RH skins - Fitted the F-824B Cover plates on the F824 skins: Dimpled the nut plates rivet holes, then the cover plate attachment screw holes for a #6 screw, matching it with the cover plate at the same time. - Then, I started the long process of dimpling dia #40 holes for flush rivets on both F824 skins. It takes about 3.5 hours for each skins. I did the entire left skin, and then in the evening, I did 75% of the right skin.
