Today, I worked on the cockpit rail pre-fits. I waited a few days to do this because I didn't have enough Clecos anymore. I received those Wednesday. Also, for a few days, my focus on the RV-8 was distracted by my desire to complete my R/C Scale model of a Dewoitine D.520
In the afternoon work session, I did:
- Align the F-816 LH & RH Cockpit rails with the side skin F823 - Drill all holes from F816 LH & RH onto the longerons F887 on both side - Final drilled holes common between F816 and the F804C Center Section bulkheads - Final drilled holes common between top of landing gear box web F802C and longeron F887, on both side
I came back in the evening for an extra hour of work and did:
- Removed the WD-808 seat back support prevously installed just for the look - Drill final #30 F817 Seat Back Support plate holes common with F805 and F806 frames - Cleco in place the spacer F856-1 on both side - Re-installed the WD-808 seat back support
