Brief Description:  Project Background - FWD Floor creating delays

Today is a rainy Monday in Terrebonne, Quebec. It would be the perfect day to work on the RV-8 fuselage, but I will not, or maybe? After checking out the FWD Floor assembly this past Saturday morning with Fred, there was flaws in my assembly. Some of the floor ribs and intercoastal cannot be re-installed, as the rivet holes are now oversized. This morning, I had to order new parts from Van's. Once they arrive later this week, I shall start on those parts from the beginning, including prime & paint. I also need to find a source of NAS1097AD5 rivets to use with the oversized holes in the floor panel.

Being the foundation of my aircraft fuselage, I think it is important we do this floor structure all right, including removing gaps between parts. On the other hand, it is frustrating because I am getting impatient to reach the canoe stage of my fuselage build. That has been delayed almost a month now.

For this first week of May, there will be minimal progress on the RV-8. For sure, there are small things I can do to make progress, but nothing is urgent. I have a few job interviews which are more prioritary, then I also have to get my R/C aircraft up and flying for the season that just started here in Quebec. If everythins goes well, I may potentially get a new job by the end of this month, thus a very positive situation, but then a lot less time available to RV-8 construction :-)
