On that day, I started the long anticipated longeron bending process. I followed instructions and reviewed Don Patrick kitlog while doing it. I started with the LH Lower Longeron F843-1. I first had to make a plywood camping base for my vise (since I cannot permanently bolt it to my work bench). I then clamped the lower longeron in the vise and started twisting it. Twisting the longeron to shape was actually easier than I anticipated.
Once done, I check the fit of the longeron with the fwd floor F822-1, and retwisted were needed for the longeron to rest flat with the floor as it should be.
I then proceeded with the right side longeron. For what ever reason, I had more difficulty visualizing which direction to twist it. In the end, I use again the floor F822-1 to make it match & fit. I decided that I would revisit this longeron bending when I have the fwd fuselage complete and ready for longeron installation instead.
