On this Sunday afternoon, I asked Fred to come give me a hand with my L/G box bulkhead F802A-R-1 and the matching angle. Instructions requires you to dimple the bulkhead, and then countersing the angle F802E-R-1. The previous evening, I started countersinking the angle, but my countersking were not deep enough for my dimple. Afraid I would countersking too much my angle, I stopped before scraping the parts again, making knife edge holes.
Fred with his experience had a different approach. We mated both the bulkhead and the angle with cleco. Then placing the assembly on a metal plate, using a piece of wood and a mallet, we hammered each hole to ensure the dimples would fit inside each hole countersking, eliminating the gap between the bulkhead and the angle.
