Last October 7, 2015, I showed up to work that morning not expecting that a negative situation was going to happen to me again....
After being in the office for less than an hour an a half, my boss called me in a meeting room. When I arrived in the room, there was a human resources manager and an envelop on the table. Having gone thru this experience previously, I knew exactly what it meant....unwanted unpaid extended vacation time :-(((( Massive employment cuts were being done by my employer.
Less than an hour after that, I was back at home wondering what my future will be. I spent the next 3-4 days being very grumpy. I came to the conclusion that It will be a few months before I find employment again in the canadian aerospace industry, given the difficult times the industry is going through right now. Might as well use this time to....speed up building my RV-8 :-) Great opportunity to turn a negative situation into something positive !
Suddently, I could work almost full time on my RV. Yet, I still had to resolve the space issue. Working full time on it, it then made sense to rent some space and move my shop from the garden shed, unpractical for winter (...), to a closed Ford dealership shop space nearby my home.
