Following e-mails and phone calls with Dale Lamport, I took the road again to Smith Falls, Ontario to check out this empennage kit. The original owner had built only the horizontal stab spar and gave up the project. Dale, just for fun and to keep his tools busy, did a little more, but not much. He just got the empenage maybe three weeks before my call. I checked out the parts and the associated documents, and we made a deal. Dale would finish the empenage, and I would come back again a few weeks later to take possession of my completed empenage kit.
During my visit, I enjoyed very much Dale's hospitality and advices on building a RV kitplane. He also had pre-bended some aluminum parts prior to my arrival, and we riveted these parts together to make a little tool tray for practice. He was kind enough to give me this tool tray.
