Clecoed on the front skijn and marked the two inch line for trimming the cowl. Cut small strips of .032 shim and drilled the top cowl hinge in place. I did this in a single piece as I don't know where I want to put the break yet. Van's says to offset the gap so you can access the pins from the oil fill door but centered works better. Mike Rossum from Southeast ramp has a vey nice centered setup so i am thinking of coping that. Since it is only clecoed I can cut the gap later.
