Brief Description:  Forward section

Spent time assembling the rudder pedals with brakes. This takes a while. I am adding the optional passenger side brakes. First fabricate the 4" long side angles and deburr everything. Drill the angle to the plates than bolt in place. Drill the end bearing blocks and the forward section stiffeners and bolt in place. Modify the center support and drill the bearing block. Cut the block in half then drill to the support. I am going to call a local anodizer tomorrow to see about getting these anodized. I believe that painting will wear off in no time. All of this required that I do alot of drilling. I went ahead and drilled the aux. longeron and match drilled the F-902. I found these gussets on the drawing but have never seen them mentions on anyoneelses build and there was nothing in the instructions about when to mount them. I went ahead and drilled them in assembly. They add support where the RV-9A would have the landing gear weldment but since I am building a tailwheel that weldment is not there. I will probably start dissassembly by next weekend.

I believe this gusset is a new piece for the tailwheel planes. Not even mentioned in the instructions.
