'So Close I can Almost Taste it!'

After another long day at work, and an even longer drive home (you have to marvel at people who feel the need to rubber neck at accidents!) Work continues, after the problems from last night, I thought it would be best to break down the upper longerons, and work on them a little more to find the best way to assemble them without having to use a hammer to get the bolts into place. After some jigging, and a slight ovalling of one of the holes, it all fits together now (Like always its just a matter of 1mm to make the difference!) As you can see from below an hour of clear thinking made all the difference!, so with the rear plate assembled and ready to go, time to take the plunge.

I then assembled the rear rudder post to the brackets as directed, and locktited them into place with a set of blue marks over the top so if i ever get into this area again (which will be more than difficult) I can check to make sure it hasnt moved. Some mock assembly has shown that the nuts and threads from the back of the bolts are bearing up on the tubes, and after about 1/2 hour of fuffing around I thought it would be best to leave any cutting for tomorrow.

I decieded to take some photos of how I managed to get the spacers in place back into the tubes, this and a combination of small screwdrivers and bolts, for swapping them in and out makes life easy and makes sure the crush spacers are not going to go missing or fall down where you cannot get them!!
