Brief Description:  Ordered Rotax 912ULS Engine and Rest of Gauges

Why choose a 912?

The long and the short of it is, its whats the kit has called for, its the engine that I've been exposed to for the last 300 Hours (Only 140 of them flying, but when you count the walk arounds, the peering over peoples shoulders, looking and other assorted flying things), it was the way to go.

There is a little bit of a price difference between the 80Hp and the 100Hp, but for the price difference, I wasnt going to quibble, it will help in the future when I want to sell my pride and joy and get myself another kit or perhaps something factory built (I doubt it will be factory built, its way to much fun building!) to have the 100Hp, so thats the way that I went.

New or Second Hand?

Not really much of a choice there, I went brand new, Yes I hear you screaming at your Computer, Why why? Why go new, find a second hand one, you can get just the same amount of problems with a new engine as apposed to a second hand one, but frankly, I would prefer the new engine, to know that everything that will happen to this engine, is of my own doing, and that I am the one to blame, sits well with me, rather than hoping that someone else has done there job properly and hasnt done something silly to the poor engine!

Fuel Pump

Oh my yes, I've already purchased most of the hardware that will be going into the aircraft, I'm currently sorting through most of it and organising it into piles of equipment, its amasing how much money can be put into a few small box's! The fuel pump is needed as there is going to be a custom fuel tank built, because it is below the line of the engine, I feel a fuel pump is needed, its not really required, and it adds weight, yes, But again, its a personal choice thing.

I have a aviasports and UMA fuel gauge and sender that is ready to be installed, and a blue press to test light that will be put in with the switch, so that when the pump is on, the light is on, I chose blue, mainly to keep it in mind, but keep it out of my 'headspace' while flying, its
