Brief Description:  Continued building the rudder

The work today was a lot of fun although Bill and I were as cold as ever. The temp was about 60 inside and 55 outside with a 25 Kt wind howling. We were also visited by Ric Castoldo and Vinny Capezzuto who came in for bike week, We had a fun time laughing it up.

Bill and I managed to complete the lower rib/spar assembly and the reinforcement plate and nutplate installation including using universal rivets in the 904 rib and box member instead of pop rivets. Small victories! I also managed to countersink and prime the trailing edge piece. Interesting note. The trailing edge is thin and once ypou countersink one side, when you flip it over in order to countersink the other side, the hole tends to enlarge and the countersink 'wobbles' causing the countersink to chip, rather than drill the hole. Looks bad, but I think it's not a big issue since the dimples on the skins will contact the rivets. A little dab of pro seal should fix any rough edge issues.
