Brief Description: Nearing completion of left elevator
The left trim tab was completed and the trim motor installed and tested. Lots of trimming was required to ensure no binding btween jack screw, actuator, and the skin. I didn't like the fact the motor wires came tru the jackscrew hole, so I made another opening for the wires. The trim tab alignment is near perfect and it looks really good. A little fiber fill on the ends and it will be perfect.
The leadin edge rounding didn't go as well. My poor use of the edge tool caused the edge to ripple and not crease. So when it it was rounded it was wavy. It's fixable, but will require a lot of tedious work. Time will tell! Mike Kelly happened by and helped out. he agreed it should work out okay. I guess we'll know next week. For now it's off to the Alan Henley Cecil Field Charity event to work.
