Brief Description: Completed rivitng the HS stab skins to the underst
After much riving and re-rivitng, the horizontal stabilizer is complete for installation on the plane when the time comes.
Of note, many rivets are hard to get to and required grinding corners of the tools off. Some new tools may be necessary, but we'll see about that later.
Each rivet checks out flush and with the right size shop head. Did I mention I love my pneumatic rivet sqeezer?
A couple of the 404/5 ribs to spar rivets were not up to my standards so they were redone. Removing them was tedious and difficult. The new rivets were difficult to set and again, tools had to be ground to let them fit. I ended up hand squeezing them as that was the only way to get to them.
The Horizontal stabilizer is done and between Bill's excellent help and Dick Martin's great advice the componet looks outstanding.
