Brief Description: Completed riveting and bolting Left Main Spar -Fo
After ribs, main and aft spars were drilled using pre punched holes in skin as template, the skin was removed and final riveting and bolting of sub assembly was completed. I did not rivet or bolt the ribs to the spars until I was sure everything with the skin worked out. Had to add a few small peices of aluminum to the top and bottom chord of rib # 7 as there would not have been place for two rivets to attach to.
Also made a beveled spacer and a flat spacer to aid riveting in tight places. Used 3/8 " key stock and drilled 3/32 hole for rivet to pass through. The riveting spacers have worked well so far and I have avoided grinding on my new $200.00 rivet gun.
I have determined that Aircraft Spruce has the best pricing for nut, bolts, and other hardware so far.
Added piece to top chord of rib
Riveting Spacer-Concaved the bottom side a little so as not to deform the rivet head.
