Brief Description:  Oil door hinge and cowl part 5

Drilled rivet holes in the flanges of the hidden hinge I'm using for the oil door. Determined the best position for the hinge on the door and match drilled the rivet holes from the hinge to the door and cowl.

Used the scrap left over from trimming the aft edge of the upper cowl to make a shim to go under the cowl side of the hinge to improve the door fit when it's in the closed position. I also cut a second, smaller shim that fits under just two of the rivets to pull the aft end of the door down a little more because the aft end was a little high. I'll eventually use an epoxy/flox mixture to fill in the gaps in the shims to form a continuous shim.

Positioned the flanges for the Skybolts on the LH and RH sides of the firewall and match drilled them using the predrilled holes in the side skins and firewall.

Removed the tabs, deburred and countersank the rivet holes.

Clecoed the tabs back in place and then riveted them to the fuselage.
