Trimmed the bottom flange from the canopy using a cutoff wheel in and electric die grinder.
Marked centerlines on the forward skin, windshield support and canopy frame. Marked the specified location for the front of the canopy. Marked centerlines on the canopy and the forward and aft ends and the point corresponding with the front canopy bow and windshield support
Placed the canopy on the fuselage and aligned all centerline markings. Used a popsicle stick with a hole ¼ inch from the end and a sharpie marker in the hole to mark a line on the canopy ¼ inch up from the forward top skin. Removed the canopy, trimmed to the line and then returned the canopy bubble to the fuselage. Marked again and trimmed again - repeated this four or five times.
