Brief Description:  Fuselage rails, seatback support and tailwheel sup

Aligned, drilled and clecoed the cockpit rails to the upper longerons.

Located drilled and clecoed the forward seatback support in place.

Removed the F812 bulkhead and aft lower skin. Mounted the tailwheel spring mount to the F-182 bulkhead and clecoed the assembly back in place on the tailcone. The plans call for installing shims between the tailwheel spring mount and the F-811 bulkhead if needed, but I measured the distance between the rivet holes for the F-811 and F-812 bulkheads on the aft lower skin and then measured the distance between the corresponding holes in the bulkheads with he tailcone spring mount clamped to the F-811 bulkhead. The measurements matched which told me that no shim was required. This seemed unusual since most of the RV-8 builders sites I've read talked about making the shims. It could be that they based that requirement on the gap between the spring bracket and bulkhead with everything relaxed. I started to do that also but then I noticed that the F-812 bulkhead seemed to have flexed aft a little bit, which is what led me to measure between the rivet holes.

Next I match drilled the #30 holes through the F-811 bulkhead and into the tailwheel spring mount and installed clecos and removed the clamps.

Finally I removed the aluminum from the aft section of the aft bottom skin per the template on the plans to clear the tailwheel spring mount. After deburring and smoothing the edges I reinstalled the aft lower skin.
