As I near the end of Phase 1 flight test I had a couple of tasks to take care of in preparation for flying away from home base. Namely trial fitting the travel cover and fabricating a set of travel chocks.
More than a year after receiving it from Bruce's aircraft covers I finally got a chance to trial fit my travel cover on the airplane. It fits great and is of excellent quality.
I also fabricated a set of wheel chocks from 3/4 inch PVC pipe. These are small enough to fit under the low wheel pants on the RV-8 although I did have to trim a little off of the aft leg of both for clearance. They'll be carried in the airplane for use when parking at airports other than home base since the typical chocks found at airport parking areas are much too large for RV wheel pants.
