Since I repositioned the LH wheel fairing about 1/4 inch aft to match the RH one, the split lines for the lower LH intersection fairings were no longer correct. The Aft one was long, so I trimmed the excess, but the forward one was short so I needed to layup fiberglass extensions on the top and bottom.
I sanded scarf angles on the aft edges of the fairing and clecoed it in place on the installed LH wheel fairing. I then used modeling clay to build up the surfaces aft of the forward fairing half to serve as molds for the extension plies. After that I laid up 5 plies on top of the clay.
Removed the lower cowl. Sanded some of the spots where I had used micro/epoxy to build up the surface to match the upper cowl. Applied coat of UV smooth prime. Sanded the smooth prime after it cured.
