Brief Description:  Engine hookups part 5

Painted the governor cable bracket with white engine paint

Removed the RH mag to set its external timing. I had removed it previously to install the fitting for the oil pressure sense line so I wanted to make sure its timing was correct.

Inserted the mag timing pin in the "L" hole in the mag.

Removed the top spark plugs from all four cylinders and turned the engine with my thumb over the #1 cylinder spark plug hole until I could feel compression. Continued rotating until the 25 deg BTC mark lined up with the engine case split line.

Reinstalled the RH mag with the nuts hand tight. Removed the timing pin.

Hooked up a mag timing light to the RH mag and turned the mag until the light (and beeper) went out. I then turned the mag the other way and stopped at the point where the light came on again. I then torqued the hold down nuts.

While I was at it I checked the timing on the LH mag with the timing light. The timing looked good.

Reinstalled the sparkplugs and re-torqued

Terminated LH mag P-lead with ring terminals and attached them to the LH mag
