Brief Description:  Wheel alignment correction

When I checked the wheel alignment last week I measured a .76 degree toe-in on the LH side and zero on the RH side so I ordered a ¾ degree shim from Van’s and today I installed it.

I put the aircraft back up on the sawhorse with the wheels off the ground and raised the tail to the level flight position. Removed the wheels and brakes.
First I double checked the alignment again and this time measured .75 degree toe-in on the left and .34 degree toe-in on the right. The slight difference from last week is probably due to a variation in my set-up.

I installed the ¾ degree shim between the LH gear leg and axel and the toe on that side went to zero.

I may add a shim on the RH side in the future. A .25 degree shim would bring it within the .25 degree max toe-in spec.
