Brief Description:  Canopy forward edge reinforcement strip

Made a flat pattern for the rivet reinforcement strip to go over the canopy bow (to give the rivets something to bear against since I drilled the holes to1/4 inch. Covered the forward 4 inches of the canopy bubble with painters tape and a layer of clear packing tape for a release ply.Cut three plies of 9oz crows foot fiberglass. Mixed up epoxy and laid up the three plies in a flat stack on the bench. Transferred the layup to the front of the canopy so it will cure matching the shape of the canopy. Covered the layup with peel ply.

Removed the paint from the canopy latch using acetone. I don’t think the primer was fully cured when I painted the topcoat on it because the paint scraped off easily.

Chamfered all edges of the latch. Scuffed and cleaned and reprimed.

Poured a test sample of part A and part B of expanding foam as a trial. After mixing it expands fast and cures fast. I’ll most likely use this as a mold for a new layup after I trim the RH aft curve of the canopy skirt. I'm not happy how it doesn't lay tightly against the fuselage side.
