Applied a second coat of truck bed paint to the rear baggage floor. Let it dry and removed masking.
If built per the plans the canopy on the RV-8 will not stop when sliding aft until the inner latch handle contacts the F807 bulkhead and this will likely scratch and dent the bulkhead. Most builders add some sort of a stop to the canopy tracks to prevent that from happening. I perused Van's Airforce and looked at a number of solutions. The one I liked the best uses a piece of rubber inside the aft end of the tracks to provide a contact point for the canopy rollers. I decided to duplicate that concept.
I purchased a 4"x4"x1" rubber jeweler's bench block on Amazon. Tonight I cut two 7/16" wide by 2 1/2" long strips from the block and sanded down the height a little bit so they fit inside the rails. The aft end was cut on a slight angle so it will sit flush against the F807 bulkhead. I drilled three 1/2" holes in each block to reduce weight and maybe allow them to give a little bit if the canopy rollers slam against them. I still need to cut relief notches in the aft bottom corners of each of them so that they clear the aft most screw in the rails.
