Hooked up the nav/strobe wires to the power supply. The nav and strobes for LH, RH and tail are all connected to a terminal block in the mid cabin under floor and a single shielded multi conductor wire runs from the terminal block to the VP-X. To hook it up I stripped the insulation and shielding from near where the wire exits the RH gear tower and soldered on a solder sleeve pigtail at the point where the shielding ends. I spliced a black 20 gage wire to the pigtail that was long enough to reach the firewall grounding block.
The blue (strobe) and orange (nav) wires were solder spliced to short lengths of 18 awg wire which came pre-terminated in the VP-X kit with the special power connectors used for the VP-X.
Installed shrink tubing over all of the splice joints and shrink labels near the end of each wire
Wires secured together with long wire strand wrapped around the overlapped wires
