Brief Description:  Rudder stops

Hung plum lines from the forward and aft edges of the tail wheel spring and from the bottom center of the trailing edge of the rudder. Used a large sheet of paper to lay out a reference line to indicate the airplanes center line as well as lines indicating 33 and 35 degrees left and right from the centerline. Lined up the centerline with the two plumb lines on the tailwheel spring and taped it to the floor. I then postioned the rudder to the right with the trailing edge plumline lined up with the 33 degree line and incrementally trimed the rudder stop until it just made contract with the rudder horn when the rudder was at 33 degrees. I then repeated this process with the rudder to the left. After smoothing the edges of the rudder stops the rudder travel was 34 degrees right and left (30 to 35 specified) and the distance from the tip of the elevator to the rudder was 1 1/4 inches (1 inch minimum specified)
