Brief Description: Canopy final riveting and wheels/tires
Applied some tinted neat resin to the forward edge of the canopy in spots between the rivet holes. The intent of the epoxy is to bond the strip to the canopy bubble between the rivets so that it doesn't pillow. Clecoed the reinforcement strip in place and installed the blind rivets starting from the top and working down alternating sides. Placed spring clamps at each location where the adhesive was applied between the rivets.
Wet sanded the wing tips and installed the nav/strobe lights and lenses. Covered the lenses with micro fiber rags and taped them in place. Moved the wingtips to the hangar and stored them in the trailer with the wings.
Disassembled the wheels. Removed the wheel bearings, cleaned off the shipping grease and packed the bearings with Aeroshell no 5.
Inserted the inner tubes in the tires (with generous amounts of talc). Reassembled the wheels around the tires. Inflated and deflated the inner tubes a few times to seat them and reinflated.
