I cut and filed the canopy slots. I stole an idea from another builders website and fitted a piece of angle under the slot location. I used the angle as a guide for the cutting wheel. I cleaned up the edges of the canopy latch pieces. I fabricated the angles that support the latch. I will get to remake the upper as it was not supposed to be drilled until it gets match drilled to the lower. I feel this is a plans GOTCHA! The plans lay out the measurements for the holes to be drilled in the lower angle, BUT it is the upper angle shown in the plans!
