Brief Description:  Aft Fuselage Inspection Hatch

Reattached the bottom Aft Fuselage Skin and mark the area to be removed. Disassemble the bottom skin and cut the access hole. Used a drill bit and cut the hole in esch corner of the access area. Then used a nibbler tool to cut out the access hole. Then used some sand paper and scothbrite pad to clean up the edges.

Reattached the bottom Aft Fuselage Skin and marked the pilot holes from the cross tie channel onto the skin. Used a center punch to mark for the holes. Removed the Aft Fuselage Skin and drilled the holes. Those hole which will be covered by the Access Pannel cover were counter sunk so that a counter sink rivet could be used as not to interfear with the Access Panel once finally assembeled.

Attached the Access Panel to the bottom skin and marked an drilled the hole for the placement of the nuts to be attached directly to the bottom skin which will hold the access panel in place. Once drilled attached the nut to the bottom skin without the access panel in place. Using the nut plate attatchment wings to locate and drill a pilot hole for the rivet locations. These locations required a countersunk rivet so very carefully cuntersunk each rivet hole on one side of each plate. Next a reivet was pulled on one side of each plate. The process above was repeated for the remaing side of esch nut plate.

Once done the Aft Fuselage Skin was reassembeled to the Aft Fuselage with clecos and the Access Panel Cover was assembed with screws to validate that it would sit flat against the fuselage bottom.
